About Me:

I guess I should give you a little background! As I start this blog I am kicking off a 6 month trip across 3 continents. If everything goes as planned I’ll visit a couple of places each in Europe, Africa, Asia and India. I hope to see and do some of the things I’ve heard about, and thought “Wow, I wish I had the time to do that”. A little exploring, a little adventure, learn something about farming, surf, meet strange people, eat weird food – who knows?! How did this come about you ask? I’ve always loved to travel, and knew that someday I would do some extended travelling. I’ve also always appreciated people who took risks in their lives, even though personally I’m pretty risk averse. Now it gets deep. Within the last year I started to think about how I would describe myself, and the experiences I wanted to get out of my life. I hate to say it, but the words that I came up with to describe myself were pretty uninspiring. And right up at the top of my list of experiences I wanted was to see the world, but I’d never travelled for longer than a couple of weeks. What I wanted was to take the time to REALLY see what’s out there, in a way that you can’t see with a weeks worth of vacation. So here I am, several months later, sitting in a hotel room with an ipad writing “about me”, and hoping I figure out how to use this wordpress thing soon. With any luck I’ll be able to share what I’m seeing, doing and hearing with my friends and family through “whereoutthere”. Hope you enjoy!
